Positive and negative hierarchies of non-isospectral multi-component AKNS equations are derived from an arbitrary order matrix spectral problem. Moreover, new non-isospectral multi-component integrable couplings of the resulting soliton hierarchies are constructed by enlarging the associated matrix spectral problem.
